LATimes: Livescribe of Oakland sells a chip-powered ink pen equipped with a camera and audio recorder that’s designed to help people remember precisely what was said when they review their handwritten notes. It synchronizes its voice recording with the pictures it takes of the words as they are jotted down. If the pen is tapped on one of the scribbled words, it replays what was said when that note was taken.

CScout: Housing company Tostem has developed a new kind of ecological residence that takes in more carbon emissions than it produces itself. The Super-sustainable Model House Next+ Nagaiki Style is set for commercialization in 2011 and features a photovoltaic system, a solar heat pump for water heating, and LED and OLED lighting. In particular, new technology for the home includes a timer to charge up an electric vehicle at night and a fractal sunshade, which is used on the terrace, though some details have not been announced.

From December 15 until the 21st, IKEA has tricked out the bus stops at 12 different stations throughout the center of Paris, focusing on areas that are heavily trafficked during the holiday season (such as the Champs-Elyses and the Latin Quarter).
